Frisco City Grill – Enjoy Frisco’s Backyard Barbecue

Frisco City Grill is no longer there but has been replaced by one of the best bars in Frisco Stan’s Main Street.Off Main Street in downtown Frisco sits Frisco City Grill.  When you first pull into the gravel parking lot, you’ll get the sense that you are heading into a friend’s backyard cookout.  The back patio of the restaurant sits on clean wood with beams and pillars wrapped in string lights.  With bean bag tosses and dart boards set up all around, a few iron tables seat guests who during our visit watched a country duo perform covers and original songs.Three servers, chatting at the bar, stood immediately at my presence, greeting me with smiles.  I chose to sit outside along with everyone else that Friday evening.I ordered a margarita–on the rocks because frozen wasn’t an option that night–and the Bacon Mushroom Burger, which was a difficult choice against the promise of the tongue-sizzling Chipotle Pepper Burger, among other mouth-watering options on the menu.  Served with the basics of lettuce and tomato, my burger also sported bacon, onions, white cheddar cheese, and mustard (given, this was a combination I wasn’t too sure I would like).  It arrived at my table about ten minutes later, on an aluminum tray with fresh-cut fries and a small bowl of ketchup. An older guy in a cowboy hat thought that I couldn’t see him watching me as I cut my burger in half, a trick I learned as a child when I couldn’t fit the thing in my mouth.  It was a necessary tool for me.Both crispy and juicy, the burger was a great blend of flavors. Frisco City Grill’s beef, as they explain on the menu, comes from cows fed on grass, fruit, and vegetables, raised on local farms.  They use a blend of meat from Wogyu cattle, which gives their burgers a bold taste.Nighttime is the best time of day to truly enjoy the casual ambience of Frisco City Grill.  With string lights, lanterns, and the air full of beer-laden conversation, it’s a great place to bring a date, dine solo, or even bring the family.  The night I visited, there were several families hanging out on the porch.  There was laughter and singing and name-calling when I visited.  The menu can suit the taste of almost any Texan complete with burgers, salads, barbecue, and even “Southwest Favorites” including tamales and steaks, complimented by a full bar inside.Frisco City Grill is a great home away from home for anyone who enjoys the feel of being around friends and great food in a warm casual atmosphere.  Be sure to check it out the next time you’re downtown Frisco or make it your excuse to go!Hours:Mon-Thurs: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PMFriday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PMSaturday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PMSunday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PMLocation7210 West Main StreetFrisco, TX 75034(214) 390-3011View Larger Map
