Christmas in Frisco SquareFrisco Square Property Owners Association, NBC 5 and the City of Frisco announce the 8th annual Christmas in the Square Light Extravaganza.  Christmas in the Square begins November 29th and continues through January 4th, 2014 in the heart of Frisco Square, at Main Street and Coleman Boulevard.  On the weekends, Frisco Square turns into a Winter Wonderland while snow machines delight all with flurries every 15 minutes. With over 655,000 visitors in 2012, Christmas in the Square is one of the largest community events in North Texas.

Installation of the Christmas Lights is well underway at Frisco Square and on Frisco City Hall.  The good weather that we are having is helping the installation teams speed through the installation of thousands of lights and miles of extension cords on the buildings surrounding Simpson Plaza. Behind the scenes, progress continues on programming and testing the new musical creations that will drive the lights for the 8th installment of Christmas in the Square.  Testing of the display will take place the weekend of November 23rd and the following week leading up to Thanksgiving.

The daily price includes open public skating most days, for as long as visitors want to stay within the open and close times. To reserve the ice rink for private use, you may call 214-444-8758 and the cost is $250 per hour.

Carriage rides will be available Thursday through Sundays starting on November 29 through December 29th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  A horse drawn carriage is one of the many ways to enjoy the Light Extravaganza and will be loading at the corner of Coleman Boulevard and Frisco Square Boulevard.  Carriage rides are $6.00 per person.

Boy Scout Troop 51 is hosting a Christmas Tree Lot starting November 29th through December 22nd at Frisco Square. You will find the most beautiful selection of trees at great prices while supporting a wonderful group.

Don’t miss the favorites on December 21st starting at 5:00 pm to include: 3 lane inner-tubing snow slide, Parachuting Santa and his elves, Carriage Rides, visits with Santa Claus, Christmas Tree lot, Holiday Treats, hot air balloon glow, face painting a trackless train and more.
