Paris in Summer

We are planning to visit Paris for the first time this Summer. Little leery of 4 and 5 star hotels recommended by AAvacations. Any suggestions on good hotels? Open to VBRO also since we will be staying for 4-5 days. Prefer to stay in Arrondissement 7, near Eiffel Tower.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the K&K Hotel Cayre in 2011. It was very convenient with a subway stop right in front. The booking was done directly through their website and they had a package that included breakfast and a scenic boat ride.
We stayed here a few years ago in April.

It was fine. I think it is closer to the Louvre than the Eiffle. I remember having to take a train to the Eiffle (2 stops away). But it was a nice place for a VRBO, fully furnished and equipped, girl checking us in was American, super friendly and helpful. This place was in a really nice area, plenty of restaurants, within walking distance to trains, etc. We had no problem using their phones for the landline and called back to TX often to check on the kids. They had WiFi too. You can really stay about anywhere around Paris and take the train. It is easy peasy and you can get a pass.
Do you have to go during the summer ? We lived there for just after DW and I got married and summer was really crowded with tourists. If you can manage it going out of summer will make for more enjoyable exprience.

Are you just doing Paris? If you have I highly recommend Mont St Michel and the Normandy. Both were really amazing and the American cemetary in Normandy is realyl a must see if you can swing it.

Get a place conveniant to the metro. Paris has a great system.

If you want a park to stroll through that will not be full of tourists try Parc Monceau in the 8th. The Rodin Museum is also worth a stop.

Paris is one of the most beautiful cities so enjoy your visit.

We used this company when we went...

We stayed in St. Germaine....

It was a great hotel located in a great area. The hotel is across the street from the Seine. About 2 blocks from Notre Dame and right across the street from a Metro Stop. As the rooms have kitchens in them we were able to walk around the corner to the shops and bring back some amazing food for Breakfast and Lunch.
