Arts of Collin County says Frisco is still obligated to the project

That quote is from Bob Baggett, president of the board of directors. I do find it interesting that in the same quote in which he says Frisco is an owner city he neglects to include Frisco in the decision to continue seeking private support, which he says is a decision made by the Allen AND Plano.

Arts of Collin County says Frisco is still obligated to the project

http://friscoblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2011/05/statement-from-arts-of-colli.html "In spite of the vote, the City of Frisco remains an owner city in the project and a party to the Interlocal Agreement signed in 2004. Withdrawal from this partnership agreement would require further action by...

I never thought Prop 1 would be that close

Don't forget his well organized campaign. Sea of red shirts everywhere.

And if the private funding that has always been promised had come through when it was supposed to, the arts hall would have been built by now. Basically it boiled down to waiting for private funding which never materialized.

But he did receive more votes today than he did against Lafata. I don't disagree he has lost some support, but his core was still solid.

Different situation. They voted it down the first time. Frisco committed the funds in 2002 and then revoked them today. Don't get me wrong, I supported Prop 1, just anticipating the reaction that might occur.

    Congratulations COUNCILMAN Nelson

Tim Nelson was having a great time today at Wester talking to everyone. His energy and passion were certainly contagious.

I never thought Prop 1 would be that close

I don't think he lost the 15% as much as the arts hall and Smith's message brought out some apathetic voters. The west side turnout, for example, was supposed to vote against Maso because of the Little Elm housing issue.

I could see a very loose case for some sort of breach of promise or breach of contract lawsuit against the city of Frisco. The arts hall plans for eight or nine years with promised Frisco funds and they are withdrawn, which leaves a higher M&O to the remaining cities, not to mention a possible...

I never thought Prop 1 would be that close

Maso's base was pretty solid and he didn't lose much over this election. The numbers show the majority voted for Maso and for prop 1. Of course, he did keep a low profile this time with the arts hall, which turned out to be a wise decision.

That's right. The four city concept lives on.

With Frisco out, Plano and Allen will almost have to pull their funding as well, unless they can find another city to step up. This doesn't look good for Mike Simpson, his city backing out. I'm guessing his job won't be too secure.

I never thought Prop 1 would be that close

I thought that Prop 1 would not pass and I am surprised it did. This election signifies the changing of the guard and of the political climate in Frisco. Hopefully we can put this ACC issue behind us now and look to the future of Frisco. It was nice to see such a big turnout for this election...

    Results from Early Voting

Reports are some people did not have the correct ballot appear and had to fill out provisional ballots. I talked with some people today who live near Panther creek with Prosper ISD and Frisco city who had some the wrong ballot also. On the bright side, a guy from Arizona said he was happy he...
