“Fall For The Arts!” On Saturday, October 5th, a collaborative effort between CBS Radio, Dallas Arts District, Klyde Warren Park, TACA, and the Art Council of Ft. Worth, Fall for the Arts is a FREE all-ages celebration in Klyde Warren Park of all the arts North Texas has to offer in the Dallas Arts District. Fall For the Arts will also complement the Crow Collection of Asian Art‘s 15th Anniversary sculpture garden grand re-opening, free first Saturdays at the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Black Dance Theatre‘s DanceAfrica, and a parade from the Dallas Museum of Art to the Annette Strauss Artist Square. Visitors can also enjoy free architectural tours of the Winspear Opera House and the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre.
Fall for the Arts is focused on celebrating all the arts and cultural institutions within the DFW Metroplex. This one-day event is free for all to attend and will be an artfully packed experience that will serve to allow all those in attendance to gain, and share in, a deeper appreciation for all that the arts in DFW have to offer.
Just as an artist’s palette holds many, and varied, colors, so too will the programming for Fall for the Arts be a colorful affair. There will be a main stage and a side-stage that will showcase performances all-day, chalk artists, and a blank canvas for all attendees to express their artistic voices. Additionally, and most importantly, Fall for the Arts allows for all participating arts and cultural organizations a unique opportunity to not only communicate their overall message, but also to share in communicating their upcoming seasons’ schedules, their guiding missions, their purpose, and their importance to our community.
Fall for the Arts will also be complimenting the following festivities also happening in the Arts District on October 5th:
- Crow Collection of Asian Art 15th Year Anniversary Celebration along Flora Street
- Dallas Black Dance Theater’s 8th Annual DanceAfrica at Annette Strauss Square
- Allen Philharmonic, Ft. Worth Symphony from Bass Hall, and Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico to perform on the main stage in the Park
- 500 Inc. will be showcasing over 40+ local, regional and national artists
Other organizations participating include the Dallas Childrens Theater, Nasher Sculpture Center, Sammons Center for the Arts, Dallas Museum of Art, The Cliburn, Casa Manana, Theater Three, Turtle Creek Chorale, and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. So, pack up the kids and venture out of Frisco to experience an art explosion that will recognize the cultural roots of what DFW is all about and make North Texas such an exciting place to live.
