No holiday says Americana like the 4th of July. And while the big city will have its fun, there’s something special about being a part of a smaller, tight knit community when the July 4th rolls around.
While Frisco is continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the country, it hasn’t lost it’s small town charm and the 4th of July is a perfect time to be grateful for the wonderful community we live in.
To me, Frisco is a gem because it keeps a small town feel (but not too small) with all of the amenities and conveniences of a larger city, and the entire DFW metroplex, right at our disposal. So I hope you’ll get out this weekend and celebrate the Frisco, a shining example of a modern American town.
4th Of July Events in Frisco
2nd Annual 4th of July 10-Mile Hump Honors Veterans
Get your exercise in with North Texas veterans, their families and supporters for a 10 mile walk honoring those who have served in the US Militar. While a “Hump” is military slang for a march performed carrying a rucksack with 25 pounds or more of gear, you can leave the extra weight at home.
Frisco Freedom Fest
A day sure to be filled with family friendly fun, Frisco Freedom Fest starts at 4pm in Simpson Plaza (in front of City Hall) and runs until the last firework goes Boom over FC Dallas stadium.
There’s going to be a lot to do for kids at the Children’s Expo featuring Euro bungees, rock climbing and bounce houses.
The party in the plaza will also have a Community Stage playing almost constant live music with local entertainers and a Hometown Hero Exhibit showing off our police and fire departments. For the first time, the 2013 Freedom Fest will also feature a zip line, can’t wait to check that out!
While all that’s going on your bound to get hungry so the Taste of Frisco will feature Frisco restaurants serving up some of their most popular menu items. And don’t forget to visit the Vendor Village to check out all of the great Frisco businesses.
At 8pm the FC Dallas will host a 4th of July Soccer match vs the Chivas until the big finale and real star of Frisco Freedom Fest…..
One of the largest fireworks shows in all of North Texas!
