A late rally had the Legends with an opportunity to stop their skid at six games. Tied 111-111 with 8.8 seconds left in regulation—thanks to P.J. Hairston’s free throw prowess—Ronald Murray killed any hope for a Legends rally, as his 3-pt. shot gave the Toros the buzzer-beating victory.
Once again for the Toros, it was Josh Howard (23 pts, 11 reb) and Murray (19 pts, 10 ast) that led Austin to another win over the Legends. Courtney Fells had a big night too, knocking down 27 points.
Mickey McConnell led the Legends in points with 26, and created plenty of additional scoring opportunities thanks to his 11 assists. Devin Ebanks netted 24 points, and both Melvin Ely and P.J. Hairston scored 18. Regardless, the Legends dropped their season-high sixth straight game, and now find themselves nine games behind the front-running Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the Central Division.
