Engaged Actors to Portray 50 Years of Marriage in Classic Musical

Chelsea Wolfe and Jacob Catalano in Theatre Frisco's production of "I Do! I Do!"

Love is in the air and on the stage this February! Theatre Frisco will open their 2018 season with the classic romantic musical, I Do! I Do!.

The production, a book by Tom Jones featuring music by Harvey Schmidt, follows the lives of Agnes (Chelsea Wolfe) and Michael (Jacob Catalano) from their wedding day well into their golden years, and features the hit song “My Cup Runneth Over With Love”.

Actors Chelsea Wolfe and Jacob Catalano are longtime favorites at Theatre Frisco. Interestingly enough, they’re also engaged. Wolfe and Catalano first met doing a production at UTD as students. And while they have performed in several shows together, they’ve never played each other’s love interest, until now.

You may have just seen Chelsea as the pianist in “Every Christmas Story Ever Told and Then Some” and Jacob in “Crimes of the Heart“, and they were both in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. Chelsea also was in “Evita” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

The story follows newlyweds Michael and Agnes starting on their wedding day and explores their life together over the next 50 years until they finally sell their home to the next pair of newlyweds. During that time, the couple goes through their wedding night jitters, raises a family, negotiates mid-life crises, quarrels, separates, reconciles and grows old together. The set consists solely of their bedroom, dominated by the large fourposter bed in the center of the room.

I Do! I Do! will run in the Black Box Theatre at Frisco’s Discovery Center February 9 – 25. Director, Neale Whitmore stated,

Since the run of this show encompasses Valentine’s Day, I wanted something romantic. And since the show celebrates a long term marriage, I am dedicating the show to the 64 year marriage of our Executive Producer, Howard and Joyce Korn.”

Performances will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with both matinees and evening shows available. Tickets and info are available at www.theatrefrisco.com or 972-370-2266 at $25 with discounts for seniors, students, teachers and military.

The set consists solely of their bedroom, dominated by the large fourposter bed in the center of the room.

Theatre Frisco is excited to launch another year of wonderful theatre entertainment at The Black Box Theatre, which offers an amazing and affordable theatre experience with an intimate theater environment.
