It’s baaaack! Edgefest is just a few weeks away and I am super pumped. The lineup this year is flat out amazing. On April 26th Toyota Stadium will be packed to the brim with bands and their fans.
Here’s the 2014 lineup: Beck, The Avett Brothers, Cage the Elephant, Bastille, Grouplove, New Politics, The Neighbourhood, Switchfoot, Chvrches, MS MR, J Roddy Walston & The Business, Kongos, Bear Hands and Smallpools. Pretty awesome, eh? You betchya! It’s much more chill than previous years, but that’s what I dig about it.
This is my first year back in the DFW area since high school, circa 2007. The last time I was in town, I was beyond excited to see Bowling for Soup and My Chemical Romance live. Don’t judge me, I was young and impressionable and still bought band T’s from Hot Topic.
With festivals like Coachella and SXSW just a plane ride or drive away, it’s easy suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out). The thing is, these festivals can wipe the ol’ bank account clean really fast. Between overpriced hotel rooms, travel expenses, and purchasing the festival tickets, you can easily find yourself a few hundred over budget.
Instead, why not come to Frisco for Edgefest. It’s easy to get there and you can go for under a hundred bucks.
What is also neat, is there are never two bands playing at the same time so you don’t have to worry about picking between them. While one band is playing, the other is setting up, so there is always music playing!
Last I checked, tickets were still available. Check out the bands, grab your friends, pick your favorites and we’ll see you in Frisco for Edgefest 2014!
