Frisco is known for its particularly high standards for homes and neighborhoods, and Cobb Farm shines as a Frisco Certified 5 Star Neighborhood. If you’re looking to move to Frisco (or within), Cobb Farm is a very desirable neighborhood to look at.
Location
Cobb Farm is located near the Dallas North Tollway on the east side of Legacy Drive just north of Eldorado Road.
Restaurants & Shopping
Across Eldorado on the south side, you will find a SuperTarget, BestBuy, Chili’s, and host of smaller shops and restaurants. The east side of Cobb Farm backs up to the Market Street grocery store which is within easy walking distance. And, the favorite local watering hole, Blue’s Pub, is just a stagger beyond that in the same parking lot.
On the other side of the Tollway about one mile from Cobb Farm, you’ll find Costco and Home Depot, so you won’t have to go far to get almost anything you need.
Homes
Homes are still being built in Cobb Farm, but there are only a few lots left with prices starting in the high $200,000’s. The lots in Cobb Farm are nicely spaced out. While you won’t feel like your nearest neighbor is the next ranch over, you won’t get the feeling they’re right on top of you either. Most of the homes in Cobb Farm were built circa 2008 and after, so all are pretty new and, per that 5 Star Neighborhood Rating, very well-maintained.
Amenities
The neighborhood boasts an active, but private, Facebook page which is used to communicate, coordinate and keep in touch. The page covers everything from the weather, HOA issues, missing pets, notices of baby furniture for sale, and friendly neighbors helping each other out.
Cobb Farm has a community pool and playground where neighbors gather, and many a birthday party is thrown for the kiddos, so it’s a very family friendly neighborhood as well.
Schools
Cobb Farm feeds into the following schools:
- Elementary School: Newman Elementary School
- Middle School: Trent Middle School
- High School: Lone Star High School
and has easy access to Collin County Community College and the University of North Texas in Denton.
Fitness
There are several parks and trails in the area, but none that directly touch Cobb Farm. There is a proposed green belt trail that will have an entrance at the intersection of Legacy and Panther Creek about a mile north of the main entrance to Cobb Farm.
Quirks
While I’ve lived in neighborhoods and never gotten to know many of my neighbors, the folks in Cobb Farm will welcome you to the community quickly. Neighbors are friendly, helpful, and always looking out for each other so be prepared for the welcome!
