Father’s Day in Frisco: Where Dads Rule the Day

June 5, 2025 by Nicole Barron
Dad and son

This Father’s Day, ditch the t-shirts and novelty mugs—Dad deserves a day packed with flavor, fun, and a little friendly competition.

There’s so much going on around here that a comprehensive list of all the possible things you could do with and for dear ol’ dad is darn near impossible. Still, we did our best to round up some brunch stuff, beer stuff, sports stuff, and more. Prepare to roll out the red carpet for the king of the castle.

🍳 🥩 Eat and Drink Like the Legend He Is 🥃

Brunch like a boss with a Texas-sized brunch buffet at nearby Haywire in Plano—we’re talking carving stations, taco bars, and seafood spreads that’ll make Dad loosen his belt in anticipation. Or, if he’s feeling a little fancy, Lombardi Cucina in Frisco is serving up wild boar hash and seafood salad with a side of Italian flair. (Reservations recommended for both.)

For the hop-loving hero, the Downtown McKinney Craft Beer Walk is a must. Twenty stops, endless sips, and a keepsake taster to remember it all by. Or head to TUPPS Brewery for a rib-and-beer pairing that’s basically a flavor explosion in four acts—plus live music and dog-friendly vibes. (In fact, TUPPS has a few fatherly things going on that weekend, so view the whole calendar.)

Want to treat Dad like the legend he is? Trick Rider is going full cowboy with a Father’s Day special that includes a colossal, bone-in prime rib glazed in signature cowboy sauce and smoked to perfection. And because no epic meal is complete without a toast, pair it with the Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Flight, featuring rare pours of 10-, 12-, and 15-year expressions, plus a 13-year Rye.

⚽ Fan Out ⚾

Although FC Dallas and the Frisco RoughRiders have away games on Father’s Day, consider getting him tickets for an upcoming match-up. Grab dinner beforehand, and make it a fun, family outing.

Buy him a training session at the PGA of America Coaching Center, which offers year-round opportunities to sharpen his golf skills, whether he’s an avid golfer or a beginner.

Or, take Dad to the National Soccer Hall of Fame, where experience honors the past while incorporating the modern technology of the present and future. It offers virtual reality, gesture technology, interactive exhibits, and iconic soccer memorabilia.

And if he hasn’t yet taken a VIP guided tour of Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, schedule it. Tours include the Ford Center, the War Room, the Nike Star Walk, and a collection of Super Bowl memorabilia.

🎯 Game On, Dad!

This Father’s Day at Puttery Dallas at Grandscape, Dad gets a free round of mini golf, prime rib, and cocktails that hit harder than his dad jokes.

If he’s more into lawn games and live tunes, Kaleidoscope Park is hosting a free bash with food trucks, beer, and fowling (yes, that’s football + bowling).

Or, head to the Rail District and book a session at The Game Show Experience, where Dad can play the TV game shows he grew up watching! Afterward, head down the street to Nerdvana – appealing to lovers of classic video games, board games, and really great food. Grab a table and encourage dad to let his inner adolescent free!

The kid inside of him also might want to visit the National Videogame Museum! Here, Dad can explore how video games are made, who makes them, and even play them! Together, you can learn about the history and evolution of the video game industry.

Random Other Stuff

On June 7th, tiny hands can make big memories at Little Designers in The PGA District, where kids can craft picture frames and draw portraits of their favorite guy. It’s sweet, simple, and guaranteed to earn fridge space.

And although this totally, completely, not even remotely pairs with the item before this one, we’re dropping it here anyway: take dad to the ever-cool Industrial Cigar Co., owned and operated by a father and his sons. It’s equal parts cool and sophisticated, and bonus – this Father’s Day weekend, they’re hosting Cars and Cigars in the parking lot.

So go ahead—make this Father’s Day one for the books. Whether Dad’s a foodie, a golfer, a beer buff, or just loves a good time, the Plano-Frisco-McKinney trifecta has him covered.
