Keep up with the action all season long: 2014 Frisco High School Football Schedules and Results

With just one week remaining in District 9-5A play, the fight for the top spot is still very much alive, as three teams are locked in a stalemate at 5-2.

W Frisco Wakeland (7-2, 5-2) @ Frisco (5-4, 4-3)—35-21

Tied up 21-21 heading into the fourth quarter, the Wakeland Wolverines had yet to find a way to stop Frisco’s Paul Terry from scoring.  With scoring runs of 24, 1, and 50 yards in the third quarter, Terry (206 yds, 3 TDs) was supplying all of the offense for the Raccoons.

However, the Wolverines defense found a way to keep Terry out of the end zone in the fourth quarter, and that, coupled with a quick score by Brent Altieri (106 yds, 2 TDs) was enough to give Wakeland what they needed to finish off Frisco.  A 60-yard interception return by Luke Bridges was icing on the cake as the Wolverines keep at least a tie of the number one spot in district.

Frisco’s Dayton Bush led all receivers with 70 yards, which he picked up on just one reception.

W Frisco Lone Star (7-3, 5-3) @ Frisco Independence (1-8, 0-7)—59-19

The Frisco Lone Star Rangers supplied a gut punch to the Independence Knights in the form of 49-point outburst in the game’s second and third quarters.

Jason Shelley put on an offensive show as he threw for 125 yards and 2 TDs, and rushed for an astounding 147 yds with 3 more scores.  WRs Jordan Jones and Justus Velicer each caught a touchdown pass while combining for 107 yards receiving.

QB Kyle Saddler had a big game for the Knights, throwing for 233 yards and 3 TDs, but had some issues with turnovers, as he was picked off three times.

W Frisco Heritage (7-2, 5-2) VS. Frisco Liberty (4-5, 3-4)—28-19

Trailing 19-17 heading into the fourth quarter, it appeared as though the Frisco Heritage Coyotes were about to lose their grip on a three-way tie for first place atop District 9-5A.  However, the Liberty RedHawks defense couldn’t withstand an eleven point outburst that enabled the Coyotes to walk away with the win.

Bubba Ogbebor (188 yards, 3 TDs) hauled in a Malik Walker pass with 9:10 remaining to give Heritage the lead, and Bryce Crawford’s 33-yard field goal put the game on ice.  The RedHawk’s Dimitri Jones rushed for 106 yards on 19 carries, and Udgam Goyal and Darrell Reese each had a rushing TD on the night.

W Frisco Centennial (5-5, 5-2) VS. Little Elm (1-8, 1-6)—31-0

The Centennial Titans, mired in a slump that saw them lose two of their last three district football games, were able to recover in time to put a hurting on the lowly Little Elm Lobos.

The Titans’ star players—RB Anthony Pegues (188 yds, 2 TDs), WRs Devin McCord (72 yds, TD), Kenny Nelson (62 yds) and QB Court Walker (165 yds, TD, INT) did more than enough to stop the Lobos, but it was the Titans’ defense that really stood out, allowing just 148 yards of total offense from Little Elm.

L Frisco Legacy Christian (3-6, 0-6) VS. Tyler T.K. Gorman (7-2 , 4-2)—13-48

Despite big nights from Chase Eisenmann (122 yds rushing) and WR Christian Gregory (147 yds, TD) the Legacy Christian Eagles couldn’t muster enough offense to take down Tyler T.K. Gorman.

The Eagles defense had no answer for Gorman’s WRs Judah Bell (135 yards, TD) and Connor Hobbs (132 yds, TD). And RBs Logan Botello and Josh Johnson combined for 142 yards on the ground with 3 TDs.
