Smallcakes Cupcakery with Creative Flavors for Every Palate

From an early age, Wendy Rodgers has been baking cakes and always had a dream to open her own cake store. Having run several business in the North Dallas area, she finally realized her dream and found an ideal location in Frisco and opened Smallcakes, A Cupcakery earlier this year.

Acquiring the space at Custer and Hwy 121 turned out to be a real winner, as it’s not only practically in her own backyard, but sits right on the edges of Plano, Allen, Frisco & McKinney, providing a convenient location to stop by wherever you live.

“It has been an amazing year so far for us,” Wendy says. “I have the local community to thank. Everyone has been so supportive, and I truly believe it is their loyalty and word-of-mouth that has made it such a success.” So much so, Wendy is currently looking for another location to open a second store.

Smallcakes has over 170 flavors, 20 of which are produced daily, and any leftovers go to various local charities. Gluten-free options are produced weekly on Wednesdays.

In addition, Wendy also offers Cupcake parfaits, Whoopee pies, and cookies in various forms and flavors. The fall menu includes Pumpkin Cheesecake, Chai Tea Latte, The Everything Fall Cupcake, Apple Orchard, and Pecan Pie to name but a few.

Asking her what she feels makes her cupcakes stand out from others in the general area, Wendy says, “Our moist cake texture is a winner, and we bake throughout the day to strive for quality and freshness, so if you drop in to the store on your way home from work, your choice of cake has not been sitting on our shelves since early that morning.”

Stepping inside, her store is a bright airy space where you are greeted by warm and friendly staff with beautifully presented cupcakes. While enjoying a cupcake, you can choose from her list of hot and cold beverages, and there is even a stock of toys to occupy the little ones. With ample seating for both adults and children, it’s a very comfortable way to pass some chill time or treat your kids.

With a motto of “maybe a cupcake will help?,” Smallcakes mission is to provide the finest cupcake experience worthy of recommending & returning.
