Talisha Thomas founded Trendy Trinkets because she wanted direct her passion for merchandising and accessories toward providing women with a convenient way to shop for trendy jewelry pieces at great prices. She currently wears most of the “hats” for the business running all of the day-to-day operations, buying and merchandise planning, to marketing and promoting the website.
Talisha graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in E-Commerce Merchandising. After spending her entire college career working in the retail industry for a Bridal/Special Occasion boutique where she became fascinated with all of the beautiful accessories, she realized that what she loved was watching the customers pair the accessories with their perfect dress.
She says, “The idea of Trendy Trinkets came about after I hosted an online jewelry trunk show, which I really enjoyed. I decided to use my merchandising background and my passion for accessories to start my own business offering fashion jewelry at affordable prices. The site officially launched in November of 2013.”
Talisha continues, “We offer fashion jewelry. Charm necklaces, statement necklaces, stud earrings, drop earrings, chandelier earrings, bracelets and midi rings… good quality jewelry at great prices.” In full disclosure, I ordered a necklace and a pair of earrings from Trendy Trinkets BEFORE writing this article because I wanted to feel the quality of the craftsmanship as the prices are so reasonable. In short, LOVE! The quality is superior and her price-points are just amazing.
Through Trendy Trinkets, Talisha is working to partner with the Department of Merchandising & Digital Retailing at the University of North Texas to help provide scholarships to merchandising students. Planning to donate 20% of her profits at the end of each semester from sales that use a special UNT code. “I did not have financial support from my parents to attend college, and I had to depend on scholarships and financial aid. So, helping out by giving back is very near and dear to my heart. I want to be able to help others achieve their dreams of a career in merchandising without the financial burden.”
