Frisco High School Football Game of the Week: Rangers Rout Lake Worth, 54-20, Remain Unbeaten, Week 3

Frisco Lone Star improved to 3-0 with last night’s win.

In their Week 2 showdown against Whitesboro, Frisco Lone Star (3-0) used their passing game to dismantle the Bearcats defense en route to a 48-21 blowout. Last night, in Lifestyle Frisco’s Game of the Week, the Lone Star Rangers turned to the ground to punish the Lake Worth Bullfrogs, 54-20.

QB Chris Moake, who connected for four TDs and 300 yards last week, set the tone for a  running game early as he scampered into the end zone for a 9-yard  TD last night in the first quarter.

Lake Worth did an excellent job of containing the strong arm of Moake, limiting him to 177 yards and one TD, but they could do little to halt the Rangers relentless running.  It was almost as if the Bullfrogs (2-1) considered Lone Star one-dimensional; a pass-only team.  Star RB Ramon Harris took exception to that assumption.

Harris, having been held to less than 100 yards last week, exploded for 140 yards on just 15 carries. He was nearly unstoppable as he scored on a 47-yard run in the third quarter and on a 16-yard run in the fourth. As the running theme continued, 7 other Rangers carried the ball at least once for a combined 112 yards.

All told, the Lone Star Rangers dismantled Lake Worth with an eye popping 481 yards of total offense, and an impenetrable defense that shutdown the Bullfrogs’ offense.  Lake Worth’s QB, Kelton Versey, could do nothing in the air—completing just 33% of his passes for 58 yards and two interceptions.  The athletic Versey found no respite outside of the pocket either as he was held to a paltry 1.74 yards per attempt on 27 carries.

Frisco Football under the Friday (the 13th) Night Lights

Even if you missed the Lone Star Rangers last night, there are plenty of other great games—two of which are in Frisco—tonight.  What better way to celebrate Friday the 13th than to watch as Frisco football frightens the competition?

Frisco Centennial (1-1) vs. McKinney North (1-1) – Frisco ISD Memorial Stadium

After putting up 44 points in last week’s loss against Lake Dallas, the Titans take on McKinney North—who put up 48 in a losing effort last week. Mark this one down as a high-scoring affair.

Frisco Wakeland (1-0) vs. Richardson JJ Pearce (0-2) – Toyota Stadium

So far so good for Wakeland against teams from Richardson, as they doubled-up on Richardson High last week, 52-25.

Frisco Heritage (1-1) @ Greenville (0-2)

Heritage’s offense couldn’t get going last week against a tough McKinney team.  A lackluster Greenville team should be just what the doctor ordered for Heritage to return to their winning ways.

Frisco Legacy Christian (2-0) @ Muenster Sacred Heart (1-1)

Legacy’s high-powered offense will look to lead the way to a 3-0 start.

Frisco Liberty (0-2) @ Denison (0-2)

Liberty will look to get off the snide against a Denison defense that has surrendered an average of 45.5 points per game.
