Do you ever wonder where authors get their inspiration? Are you curious about how your favorite characters are drawn? Would you like to know how to get your work published?
Get answers to these and other literary questions at the Frisco Book Fest hosted by the Frisco Public Library on Saturday, November 12th from 1:30pm to 5:00pm in City Hall – the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center.
An impressive group of talent from the literary world will come together for this free event. The atrium will be lined with author booths for come-and-go interaction and fun and informative presentations and workshops will be held throughout the afternoon in Council Chambers. Featured presenters include:
- A.G. Ford
- Polly Holyoke
- Ron Bates
- Kelsey Macke
- Jeramey Kraatz
- Henery Press Publishing
This is also a tremendous opportunity for the library community to meet and mingle with local authors, as the atrium will be lined with booths where you can meet the writers, talk about their work, and purchase a signed copy of their work.
This is a rare opportunity to interact with and learn from professional authors, illustrators, and publishers,” says Yvette Elizondo, Youth Services Librarian. “Whether fans want to get an autograph from a favorite author, or get their own work published, the Frisco Book Fest has them covered.”
The timing for the Frisco Book Fest is particularly exciting for one local author and member of the Frisco Write Club. Derek Blount, featured recently here on Lifestyle Frisco, just released his new novel on Halloween, the suspense thriller “Second Son“. Brimming with tantalizing mystery, pulse-pounding suspense and unexpected twists, this is a complex, exhilarating thriller and an electrifying follow-up to Blount’s debut novel “Hostile Takeover“.
The Frisco Book Fest will be the first signing event for this work,” explains Derek. “While there are several other events lined up for “Second Son” over the next few weeks, the Frisco Public Library is special to me. I’m ecstatic for the opportunity to share this book with the local community first.”
Derek will be sitting at a featured local author table, and just in time for the holidays, will also have copies of his first published book, a heartwarming Christmas tale – “The Three Christmases of William Spencer” along with his thrillers “Hostile Takeover” and “Second Son.”
Other authors scheduled to appear are:

- Shella Gillus
- Anne Greene
