He is committed to continuing the vision of Frisco he has helped build, advancing the city’s progress through prudent development and thoughtful infrastructure.
The foundation for Frisco has been laid and this city is on the cusp of greatness; however, there is much work to done.” Cheney stated. “With the second half of the city yet to be built, I would be honored to lead the community to fulfill it’s potential.”
Cheney has served nine years as a City Council Member, four years as Mayor Pro Tem, and eight years as Budget and Audit Committee Chair. He is the first to announce candidacy for the mayor’s office in the upcoming city election. As a small business owner, Cheney has accomplished professional success to match Frisco’s growth. In 2015, The Frisco Chamber of Commerce awarded his Keller Williams affiliated real estate company, The Cheney Group, as their “Small Business of the Year.”
In a statement, Cheney conveyed his passion for leading the city. “Frisco has become one of the most dynamic and vibrant cities in the country. It has been a true privilege to serve the community during this time. While I am proud of the accomplishments to date, I look forward to the opportunity to take Frisco to the next level. I feel I am uniquely qualified to be the next Mayor of Frisco.”
There are many projects on my radar, including the five-billion dollar mile,” described Cheney while explaining his vision. “Developing a central core by revitalizing downtown, the 380 corridor, Grand Park, and achieving more quality residential and commercial design are among them.”
