The weather should be perfect, the Texas/OU game is over, and the Cowboys are having their bye week (thank goodness!). So, what is there to do? Get outta the house and come out to see some art at the ArtSeen Studio Tour!
The ArtSeen Studio tour is an annual event in Frisco, which highlights artists in their studio spaces and exhibits all over town. This year, the tour hosts 25 artists/exhibits, so you’re sure to find lots of interesting works of art that you like- photography, jewelry, painting, video and sculpture. With several group exhibits, and many artists showing off their creative spaces and their newest works of art, this 5th year of the event sees the largest collection of artists yet.
Misty Oliver Foster, the Creative Director of the event, is a native of north Texas, came to Frisco in 2006, and have been active in the arts community ever since. She works as an artist and has a passion for promoting visual artists and their work. Misty will have her studio open, and will host three other artists there. Four artists in one stop… lots to see!
Be sure to see the map to plan your route — you can pick any stop you want, or just start at #1 and make it across town to #15. You can also pick up one of the tour’s full-color catalogs before the event by stopping at the Frisco Discovery Center, thegallery8680 or the Frisco Public Library (Atrium), or get a catalog from any of the participating artists during the tour.
The Studio Tour has been one of my pet projects since 2011. I helped conceptualize this tour after meeting so many interesting artists here in Frisco and realizing we have a unique set of talented artists. ~~ Misty Oliver Foster
The ArtSeen Tour is a creative and educational opportunity for all ages. It’s free and casual. So, come out and spend the day with family and friends, and meet some of our talented local artists.
