5 Places You May Not Have Thought of for a Child’s Birthday Party in Frisco

August 18, 2014 by Nicole Barron

If you’re raising kids in Frisco, you’ve surely been invited to a birthday party at Jump Zone, Urban Air, Main Event, or another similar venue. If you’re not ready to brave a birthday party at home (complete with blue frosting in your tile grout), we have you covered.

In addition to Frisco’s extensive list of brand-name party venues, here are five lesser-known venues you should know about.

The Carousel at Stonebriar Mall

It’s a little-known secret that you can reserve the Carousel at Stonebriar Centre. For $150, it is all yours (with certain time of day restrictions). The children will enjoy unlimited rides and the privilege of their own Carousel for a day.

The carousel makes a great location for parties without renting it, as well. The mall allows patrons to group together tables from the food court to create a party. Feel free to bring your tablecloths, party supplies, balloons, food, and cake, and set up right near the Carousel. Clean up is a breeze. Consider the option of purchasing 2-3 carousel rides for each guest (they’ve been known to give a group rate if you purchase 20+ rides at once.)

Bonus: The Disney Store is right across from the Carousel. They’ll give your birthday boy or girl a special badge to wear for their big day.

Frisco Commons Park

With 64 acres of beautiful lawn, Frisco Commons Park is a fantastic location for an outdoor party. With 2 award-winning playgrounds and a large pond, the park is a party-in-a-box (so to speak).

Make a reservation for one of five covered picnic areas, including the Grand Pavilion overlooking the pond. The park offers ample space for games, fishing, and grilling. Party activities are a breeze – bring balls, sidewalk chalk, or simply enjoy Hope Park, Friendship Park and/or the Splash Pad. Reservations are not required, but necessary to guarantee the space for your event. Reservations are free for Frisco residents.

City of Frisco Fire Stations

“When I grow up, I want to be a fireman!” Children look up to our heroic Frisco firefighters, as they should. Our fire department hosts children’s birthday parties at each of the fire stations. The fire fighters and first responders will provide education and fun for your little ones. The party includes a tour of the fire station, a close-up look at the equipment, and safety tips designed just for them.

“Sports City USA” Birthday Packages

They said Frisco was the “best place to raise an athlete” so it’s no surprise that our local, professional teams have options to celebrate a child’s birthday.

Frisco RoughRiders: Have a “Grand Slam Birthday Party” at Dr Pepper Ballpark! Receive 30 tickets, a $75 gift certificate to the Riders’ Outpost, a visit from the mascot, food, beverage, Roughriders products, an hour on the Riders’ playgound, and a personalized ‘Happy Birthday’ Ridersvision videoboard!

Texas Legends: Celebrate a birthday in style with the Legendary Birthday Party package. Receive great seats to see the Legends play, video board recognition, party favors, front of the line access to the player high five fan tunnel, a legendary gift for the birthday guest as well as Hot Dog, Chips and Drinks for every person at the party.

The Star in Frisco: Celebrate your birthday at The Star! Birthday packages include party room rental, a VIP Guided Tour of Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and more!

Frisco Athletic Center Pool Parties

Have your child’s next party poolside at the Frisco Athletic Center! Enjoy a 1.5 hour private indoor party room or outdoor pavilion rental (summer only). 24 admissions to the aquatic center (includes adults and children who are swimming and not swimming), pizza, drinks, and paper goods in color of your choice. Cake and ice cream are the responsibility of the parent (which most people prefer anyway).
