Lone Star (15-2, 2-0) 2016-17: Regional Quarter Finalists
Currently atop the district, Lone Star is coming off a 2016-2017 season that saw them make it all the way to the Regional Quarter Finals, where they were beaten by The Colony, the eventual State Semifinalists.
Returning from that team is their leading scorer, G Mallory Adams, who is averaging 23.3 ppg in district thus far.

Reedy (10-4, 2-0) 2016-17: Bi-district Finalists
Reedy pulled a tough matchup in the first round of last year’s UIL Playoffs in The Colony, as they would go on to finish as State Semifinalists.
The Reedy Lions are once again a formidable unit, as they got tons of point production from PF Mary Rose Foster (13.5 ppg) and SGs Sophia Thomas (13 ppg) and Christina Mason (13 ppg).

Liberty (8-8, 2-0) 2016-17: State Runner-up
Frisco Liberty is coming off a season that saw them as a Top 25 team in the state (12th), and their deep playoff run added validation to their elite ranking.
In the State Regional Finals, the RedHawks were felled by Canyon. SG Kelsey Kurak is off to a hot district start, averaging just over 16 ppg (16.5).

Centennial (10-5, 1-1) 2016-17: Did not make playoffs
With district just underway, Centennial has already greatly improved on last year’s team that went 3-11 in district play.

Independence (8-6, 1-1) 2016-17: Did not make playoffs
Independence, like Centennial, has made great strides towards respectability after trying 2016-17 seasons.
In fact, these two should play a big part in which team gets the nod for that fourth playoffs spot come February. G Shelby Dugas is averaging 8 points per district game, with Izaria Ferguson putting up double-digit point offerings at 10 per game.

Frisco (3-6, 0-2) 2016-17: Did not make playoffs
The last couple of seasons have been tough ones for Frisco High School. This year looks to be yet another challenge as many teams in the district have improved over a year ago.
Frisco is led by two solid shooters in frosh Natalie Yates (9 ppg) and senior Ashleigh Candy (8.5 ppg). Yates will be a bright spot for Frisco for many years to come.

Heritage (3-10, 0-2) 2016-17: Did not make playoffs
Aside from the few powerhouse teams, the district is in a state of flux. Heritage finds themselves looking up to most of their district counterparts, with playoff hopes seeming a very distant reality.
If they can get hot, they’ve got a shot, as they’re led by Ashley Batac (11.5 ppg) and Amaya Singleton (10 ppg) who have both started off district in the zone.

Wakeland (3-12, 0-2) 2016-17: Bi-district Finalists
It looks like the 2017-18 season, much like last year, is going to be a tough grind for Wakeland.
The good news? They’re led by two ladies that are quite capable of putting double-digit points on the board, as both Jordan Jones (14 points) and Alana Kickhoefer (10 points) did so in their district debut last week.
