Note: Stan’s Main Street is now permanently closed.
Everyone says they love a good dive bar. But what we really want is less “hole in the wall” and more of a place on the casual side where everyone knows your name. And they soon will at Stan’s Main Street. The second time I went I was already running into people I knew from around town on the back patio, which is a great place to start.
Texans love their patio’s and you won’t find another one like Stan’s. It feels more like your own back yard with a covered trellis, wrought iron tables, and surrounded by a 6-foot privacy fence.Of course you’ll find a few amenities that you might not have at home like a stage for live music, and servers to bring you food and a cold drinks (no, your spouse doesn’t count).
Inside Stan’s
When you first walk in you’ll be greeted by any number of friendly staff. I mention this because I’ve been impressed at how friendly and genuine everyone I’ve meet there has been.Inside, Stan’s is cozy and comfortable. Lot’s of wood accented with metal surround a comfortable bar that looks out on the back patio. The bar holds 6-8 people plus a few tables in the bar area and has a nice intimate feel. It’s a great place to watch the game with a couple of friends.
Stan’s also has live music 6 nights week so if you’re in the mood to hear some talented local musicians play a variety of tunes, Stan’s has you covered every night but one. The 7th night is reserved for trivia. So if exercising your memory while soaking up some suds is your thing they have you covered there too.The dining room is nicely segmented with booths and tables. So it works well when it’s two for dinner, beers with the guys, or for taking the little league team out for burgers after a hard earned victory.
Stan’s Menu
Of course there is more to Stan’s than a great feel and entertainment. They serve up some amazing bar food. So much so that when we did the Best Burger in Frisco for 2015 and Stan’s wasn’t in the poll our readers we’re pretty vocal in letting us hear about it.So we made the sacrifice and headed over to Stan’s to give the burger that everyone was raving about a try. It’s not that we didn’t believe you but it is our job to validate those sorts of things!I’m happy to report that burger lived up to expectations and then some!Wendi had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was also a huge hit. Of course they have more than that and you can check out their full menu on their website. As for quenching your thirst, Stan’s has a full bar and serves up cold beer in mason jars (and pint glasses upon request) so no one will go thirsty.
From what we hear, Stan’s is picking up steam as the “industry” place to go after work. Which is restaurant speak for “it’s where other restaurant workers go for drinks after they get off work.”For you and I, it’s validation that when a relaxing environment, cold drink, and good food are in order, Stan’s is the place to be.Give Stan’s Main Street a try and you’ll find yourself wanting to come back again and again.
