Admit it, how often do you drive down old Main Street and remind yourself to one day park the car and visit all of those cute shops and boutiques? This Thursday, October 12 from 5pm – 9pm is a great opportunity to do exactly that.
With a portion of the proceeds benefiting Frisco Family Services, the Frisco Downtown Merchants Association is proud to present their now twice-yearly Sip, Shop and Stroll event where participating boutiques, stores and eateries will stay open late sharing exclusive offers and discounts.
For anyone new to Frisco, it’s a real treat to experience what Historic Downtown Frisco has to offer and meet some of the local independent business owners in the most charming part of town. The area is experiencing somewhat of a renaissance lately with new stores and eateries opening on a regular basis. The City of Frisco, local business owners and other stakeholders in town have wonderful plans to revitalize the area while maintaining the vintage vibe and protecting the historic railroad fabric of the area.
While we may have our favorite department stores, they can’t compete with the unique finds you’ll discover at a cozy boutique. When you support our local business owners, you get to know the people behind the product, you keep the community unique, and you likely experience better and more personalized customer service. And with generous donations directed to Frisco Family Services on Thursday evening, all the more reason to grab some friends, put on your cutest walking shoes and Sip, Shop and Stroll!
So what can we expect at this season’s Sip, Shop and Stroll event?
Besides the obvious sipping complimentary drinks and sampling appetizers, you can shop exclusive sales, experience exclusive in-store events, indulge in discounts, and hopefully, check some items off your holiday list!
This new hip gallery and design studio opened their doors last week, and the “Sip Shop and Stroll” evening falls right in the middle of their ten days of grand opening events and exhibitions. This welcome addition to the area offers a “world class roster” of artists in their Gallery from local to International, and custom and commissioned works are available as well. On the evening of Sip, Shop and Stroll, sips and bites will be provided as the celebration continues and they introduce a cast of amazing artists to Frisco. Take time to peruse their Art Glass and Sculpture Collections and find out about the many classes and workshops they offer, such as Vino Meets Van Gogh, and the Pajama Party Kidfest. The gallery is sophisticated meets comfortable, and they truly wish to connect with the community and provide a variety of opportunities for all ages to enjoy learning about, creating and appreciating art. Frisco Fine Arts is located at the SW corner of Main Street and South County.
Besides being the cutest party and event venue in Historic Frisco, did you know House of Hadley Kate also has their own boutique line? They carry girls’ clothing sizes from infant to 14, accessories including jewelry, bows, hats, scarfs and girly gift items and a selection of women’s accessories. On the evening of Sip, Shop and Stroll they’ll have fall and holiday items available at 20% off. In addition to these goodies, visit their beautiful house on Pecan Street to learn more hosting a party, event, shower or meeting at their venue.
A firm favorite in Downtown Frisco, Eight 11 Place plans to start the fun early. Before you put your shopping boots on, stop by and enjoy Happy Hour from 3-6pm. They’re also offering 10% off with the purchase of $25 for anyone who mentions the event, and they’ll have live music all evening.
With plans to station their nitro trike (a kegerator on a trike) outside on Main Street, our favorite coffee house downtown is offering free samples of the Nitro Moon (stout nitro cold brew with rich sweet creamy Moon Milk) and signature hot chocolate with Moon Milk! They’ll also have a limited supply of free samples of Chelles Macaroons – yum! The coffee shop itself will be open 1 hour later until 9pm offering a place to relax and enjoy all their usual treats, and as they like to say, “coffee unplugged”.
All your favorite boutiques have stocked up with fall favorites and exclusive offers for the night too.
Bittersweet Ivy – 20% discounts on all shoes
Blue Door Boutique – 30% off non- sale items
Twisted Simplicity – 20% off jewelry with a clothing purchase
Sunny Paige – 20% off many items (new baby line in store)
Lillian Welch – besides an array of new lines in gifts, home décor and jewelry, they’ll have a special draw for the famous luxury Belle Notte Linen line.
It’s a fun evening for the whole family or even a GNO with girlfriends to spend time together. All the vendors and stores are looking forward to meeting and greeting everyone with refreshments and some door prizes. Most importantly a percentage of proceeds from each participating venue goes to a wonderful local charity.
