Back in 1981 a classic comedy entitled The Cannonball Run hit the silver screen. Since then there have many attempts to duplicate the speed and comedy infested event, but few have succeeded on a grand scale… until now!
The producers of Fireball Run have found a way to support the search for Missing Children into a life size board game and adventure rally. Forty teams of two bring a zany, fast, or fun car to the origin city (this year Frisco) and then proceed to follow a a “game board” from Texas to Independence, Missouri. Along the way they are completing challenges for points and distributing tens of thousands of fliers in the hopes of finding 40 missing children.
Frisco is fortunate to not only be the origin city, but also have Mayer Maher Maso (@MaherMaso) and Councilman John Keating (@Keating4Frisco) representing us. They are known as The Frisco Road Kings (Team 8) and are supporting the search for Wendy Diaz, an eight year old who is missing from Dallas, TX.
The Frisco Road Kings will be completing their missions in a spiffed-up 2014 Dodge Charger with Winwood 6-caliper brakes, cold air intake, 20″ Rims and Headers. I have no doubt we will see and hear this car a few more times running around Frisco all decal’d up in support of a great cause!
Despite all the fun stuff, Team Frisco needs your help:
- Take a moment and and see if you recognize Wendy Diaz and if by chance you do, please contact 1-800-843-5678.
- Jump over to the Team Profile page and vote for The Frisco Road Kings for the Peoples Choice award!
- Make a donation to the Child Rescue Network through www.fireballrun.com.
You can also view live feeds of the event for the next six days on the website and track the results and ranking of each team. While there will be a winner announced at the end, the true winners are the young children and their families!
