A home on San Andres Drive, off of Eldorado Parkway, was reportedly struck by lightning just before 7 p.m. Tuesday evening according to DFWscanner.net. Dispatchers received a call from the home owner’s neighbor at 6:47 p.m. about the incident and firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:51 p.m. Yet, in that short amount of time, the two-story home was already engulfed in heavy flames and spewing thick, black smoke.
When the fire started the home was empty except for the home owner’s dogs but the neighbor who called 911 managed to rescue the dogs from the home. It took an hour for firefighters to get the flames under control. Damage estimates range between $400,000 – $500,000, which includes structure and contents.
With so much damage, Frisco neighbors have joined with Scotty P’s Hamburgers on Eldorado Pkwy, at entrance of Market Street shopping center, to host a donation opportunity ALL DAY on Friday, June 27th. Scotty P’s will be donating 20% of all revenues to a fund for the family affected by this fire, and they will be taking cash donations and any gift cards to stores like Target, Best Buy, Kroger, etc.
So, come out, enjoy a burger and fries for a great cause and let’s help a Frisco family in need.
