eSpiritu has permanently closed and been replaced by The Roots Frisco. My wife and I were having dinner in Frisco Square and decided to have after-dinner drinks but wanted someplace we’d never been before.Frisco has its hidden gems, you just have to know where to look.eSpiritU was easy walking distance and hit the mark perfectly. This is where to go when you’re looking for something unique in a Frisco bar for a drink, to hang with friends, or to take in some live music. When you walk in the first thing you’ll notice is the dimly lit room and the large L-shaped bar at the front. As you get a closer look, you’ll notice the hint of mid-evil furnishings in the dark wood and stained glass. Gothic arches that adorn several sections of the interior adding to the feeling that this isn’t your typical Texas kitsch. While the decor is atypical for Frisco, it’s a nice change done with taste and subtlety so that it doesn’t feel out-of-place. In fact, it’s downright inviting.Throughout the course of our Friday evening the crowd grew to a respectable size but was never overly crowded. It was just enough to liven things up without getting cramped.A local, “Jim” came in to stand-in for a no-show live music act and filled the place with energy yet kept the volume under control so you could still have a discussion without yelling across the table. A man and his acoustic guitar was the perfect mix for the location. They have other acts regularly and do live music every Thursday and Saturday from 8 – 10pm.Our bartender, who took care of everyone single-handedly, was a bit of a wizard when it came to the drinks and made the best Old Fashioned I’ve had. With a full bar, wine and beer, including some from local breweries, you can get just about anything you like.Rumor has it eSpiritu will be working with Three Squares in the near future (delivery?), if you want to just hang out and have dinner there as well (eSpiritu doesn’t serve much food). The next time you’re in the mood for something different, or just want a nice but casual place to hang out with someone, give eSpiritu a try. It’s a little different for Frisco and that’s a part of what makes it special. They also have a protected interior patio in the hall next to enFuego.HoursMon – Thu: 4:00 pm – 12:00 amFri: 3:00 pm – 12:00 amSat: 3:00 pm – 1:00 amSun: 12:00 pm – 12:00 amHappy HourMonday through Saturday from open until 8pm and all day Sunday.$1 off all beers, $5 house wines, and $3 dollar well drinks.6142 Frisco Square BlvdFrisco, Texas 75035View Larger Map
